Growing RegionsAlmonds are native to the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent and North Africa. The largest producers of almonds include the U.S, Spain, Australia, Iran and Morocco. Other countries include Italy, Turkey, Tunisia, Algeria and China.

Variations: Brown unsorted 12-14mm, blanched and chopped. 

Uses: Almonds can be consumed on their own, raw or roasted as a snack or as part of various dishes. Almond milk and almond syrup are well known derivatives of almonds.

BLEACHED PEANUTS

Growing Regions: Blanching involves the removal of the peanut skin by placing them in hot water and cooling them rapidly. The largest producers of peanuts are China, India, Nigeria and the U.S 

Variations: 40/50 

Uses: Blanched peanuts can be consumed as a snack but are mainly used as an ingredient in cooking and baking.

HAZELNUTS

Growing Regions: Hazelnuts are mainly grown in Turkey, Italy, Georgia, The U.S and Azerbaijan.

Variations: 11-13mm, 09-11mm, roasted and chopped 0-2mm

Uses: Hazelnuts are used popularly in chocolate. Its paste is also used to make several traditional and ethnic deserts in French and Turkish cuisines. Ferrero SpA is known for consuming a large portion of the global supply of hazelnuts in their chocolate products.
